ok something just occured to me after recently watching season 5 finale (oh my goddess) again...chris introduces himself as chris perry...how is this possible being piper's son? i realize that if he was to say chris halliwell it would have been too obvious, but chris never really lied, he just avoided the truth, so is perry his middle name (possible being a "p" name) or what? and if perry is his middle name then is it that only because piper named him that after knowing him as chris perry? i think i just injured my brain...any help here?

If you watch further, he tells you Perry is his middle name when he reveals himself as Piper and Leo's son... Perry comes from Leo's family...I believe it was his fathers name.

ohh i like that name, strange how leos dad was called perry and it begins with a P like the family tradition in the girls. Wyatt hasnt got a name begining with P though, thats strange, they gave chris one??.

Perry is not Leo's fathers name. His name is Christopher Wyatt, hence where Chris got his name from. I think that when Chris introduced himself as Chris Perry that was his name until the writers realized they wanted to make Chris Piper and Leo's son. So they gave Chris the middle name of Perry. I don't think it starts with a "P" for tradition i think that was just coincidental. It is unknown where the name "Perry" comes from seeing it is never mentioned in the show. The reason Wyatt doesn't have a name starting with "P" is because as they say in the show "so we break the tradition". They couldn't find a name starting with "P" but they didn't really care. They already broke the tradition of only female witches being born into their family for three hundred years so it didn't really matter. I think role play named Chris, "Chris Perry" because he never got a middle name unlike his brother Wyatt Mathew Halliwell. So they gave Chris a middle name although it is never mentioned in the show that Chris even has a middle name.

As a random aside: Perry is apparently a less common abbreviated form of Percival which usually gets shortened to Percy (here in the U.K. at any rate!). Christopher Percival Halliwell? No wonder it got shortened to Chris Perry!
